Zaake Dramatic Return from India: MP Whisked from Plane, Driven Home
MP Francis Zaake Returns to Uganda
Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake Butebi returned to Uganda from India early Thursday morning, following about 40 days of hospitalization at Manipal Hospital.
On arrival, police officers ‘fished’ Zaake From the plane and drove him home.
Zaake arrived at Entebbe International Airport at about 7:18am.
Police officers had been on standby to ‘welcome’ Zaake.
A van waited for him, and as soon as he had been bundled therein, the van drove off.
Officers at Entebbe threatened to arrest Zaake’s wife, Bridget Namirembe, if she kept complaining about the whisking away of her husband and the luggage.
Zaake’s lawyer Asuman Basalirwa said the MP was scheduled to attend thanksgiving prayers in Mityana.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Zaake, instead of using Kenya Airways as he had earlier indicated, had opted to Jambojet to skip security’s plan to arrest him.
