Rema Namakula Clears Air on Reports of Insulting Bebe Cool Over Social Media Tax
Rema: I Don't Judge Bebe Cool
Singer Rema Namakula has distanced herself from social media screenshots that appeared to show that the diva had dissed musician Bebe Cool of the Gagamel Crew over his social media comments.
Last week, Bebe Cool called an anti-social media tax protest by artistes a nuisance.
He has since been engaged in a cat-and-mouse social media fight with some of the artistes who took part in the protest — notably singer Apass.
On Monday, a stranger attempted to drag Rema, wife to singer Eddy Kenzo, in exchanges over social media and mobile money taxes.
A daily tax of Shs 200 on social media and a one per cent levy on mobile money transactions took effect on July 1.
But Rema has dismissed the post.
“I have woken up to a screenshot from so many people about a particular post going around. But you all well know my page is verified and it has a blue tick. So whoever has done that… sort yourself out,” wrote Rema in response.
“I was not brought up to disrespect or judge people like that.”
She further expressed her frustration: ” I’m tired of always having to explain my self yet you all well know that my page is verified…For the last time I have one page which is this very one and I don’t do business on Facebook period..the rest is at your own risk.”
