UGANDA POLICE ON NALUFENYA CLOSURE
“Nalufenya has not been closed,” read part of a statement issued by deputy spokesperson of police Patrick Onyango.
Onyango admitted that “the matter of Nalufenya detention facility was discussed in our policy advisory committee (PAC)”.
He adds that “There was no decision taken or resolution made on it”.
But some members of the opposition such as Buhweju MP Francis Mwijukye claim there was pressure from government to keep Nalufenya opened.
“Order from above force the police chief to rethink this directive.”
