IGP Ochola Speaks on ‘Bobi Wine Arrest on Landing at Entebbe’
Uganda Police chief Martins Okoth Ochola has spoken out on the ‘arrest’ of singer and Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
According to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ochola “nobody has arrested Bobi Wine”.
“We are simply escorting him and providing security to him as we promised yesterday. He is heading home.”
Security officers bundled Bobi Wine into a waiting van after he landed aboard Kenya Airways at Entebbe International Airport Thursday morning.
Police would later drive Bobi Wine to Kasangati Police Station in Wakiso district.
Police has since issued a statement to the effect that Bobi Wine is now at his home in Magere.
He cooperated with the police, said police spokesperson Emilian Kayima in a statement.
