Museveni Praises KCCA Councillors for Disobeying Lukwago
President Yoweri Museveni has praised over 200 Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) division Councillors who defied lord mayor Erias Lukwago.
Lukwago’s council had passed a resolution barring councillors from attending training workshop Museveni had organised.
But the councillors flouted Lukwago’s orders.
The 200 KCCA and Urban division councillors attended the workshop a one-week leadership training at the National leadership institute (Nali) in Kyankwanzi.
In recent times, Nali has become synonymous with ‘brainwashing of leaders’, according to political critics of Museveni.
Leaders such as MPs have supported controversial ideas that favour Museveni after such meetings at Nali.
MUSEVENI PRAISES COUNCILLORS FOR DEFYING LUKWAGO
Lukwago is a fierce critic of Museveni. Lukwago has recently accused the president of usurping his powers on city matters.
Museveni praised the councilors for their bravery.
“I commend the councillors from different political affiliations for defying calls from some of their leaders to boycott this training,” Museveni said.
“It is good that you defied the resolution and broke yourselves away from those people who did not want to help you.”
Museveni also told the opposition that power was not easy to get, the way one catches flu.
