The by-election attracted six other candidates: Richard Henry Nyanzi, Faisal Mayemba, and Francis Wakabi.

Others were Christine Monica Abuze, Paul Mugaya and Hatim Isabirye Mugendi.

Ballot stuffing allegations, arrests of Mwiru’s campaigners characterized the Thursday poll.

Mwiru’s win is a slap in three-decade president Yoweri Museveni’s face.

Mwiru even won at Nabeta’s polling station: Main Street Polling Station.

Nabeta polled 47  at Main Street East polling station against while Mwiru got 77.
