Health Minister Moriku on Life Support at IHK
The condition for Dr Joyce Moriku Kaducu, the state minister in charge of primary health care, has worsened, prompting doctors to administer a life support procedure.
Moriku, also Moyo Woman MP, is admitted at International Hospital Kampala (IHK).
Her admission was a result of alleged food-poisoning.
Junior health minister in charge of general duties, Sarah Opendi, has been quoted Tuesday as saying that Moriku had difficulties in breathing.
“Dr Kaducu is being managed at the Intensive Care Unit at IHK. She was supposed to be airlifted for better treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi yesterday (Monday) but all their intensive care beds were occupied,” Opendi told Daily Monitor.
“We have not gotten a proper brief on her diagnosis. She developed hardships with her breathing on Sunday of the previous week when doctors were still investigating her illness.”
