Zimbabwe Opposition Leader Morgan Tsvangirai Dies at 65
Zimbabwe is in mourning after the death of key opposition leader Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai.
Tsvangirai succumbed to colon cancer.
He died in a South Africa hospital.
Tsvangirai was leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
He was former president Robert Mugabe’s perennial challenger.
Mugabe has severally imprisoned Tsvangirai.
Mugabe and Tsvangirai shared power in 2008 after the latter won in the first round of the vote.
Tsvangirai became premier and Mugabe remained president.
And after Mugabe recent exit, Tsvangirai was expected to continue with the struggle.
MDC MOURNS MORGAN TSVANGIRAI
MDC vice president Elias Mudzuri described Tsvangirai as an icon.
As you are aware that our MDC T President, Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai has not been feeling well for some time, it is sad for me to announce that we have lost our icon and fighter for democracy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, the party and the nation at this hour.

Tsvangirai leaves a divided MDC with three of his deputies now jostling to fit in his shoes ahead of polls.
Tsvangirai was the opposition coalition candidate.
