Uganda High Commission in Rwanda Risks Closure over Rent Arrears
BAHATI ON UGANDA HIGH COMMISSION DEBTS IN RWANDA
According to Bahati, the high commission is short of Shs 377 to deal with rent and salary arrears.
Bahati told the committee the money will “cater for budget shortfalls on rent and mission staff salaries shortfalls”.
He reminded the MPs that the Ugandan high commission land lord had put staff and commissioner “on notice for eviction… if the outstanding rent obligation is not cleared”.
However, in 2015, Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially opened a Shs 8bn High Commission building in Kigali.
