UCE 2017 Results Inaccessible to School Fees Defaulters, Says Uneb
Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has agreed to school heads’ request not to release 2017 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results of candidates who defaulted fees via SMS.
Uneb released 2017 UCE results Wednesday but withheld results of 4,525 candidates over examination malpractice.
And so have been the worst performing districts.
Candidates have been checking their results via their mobile phones by following the procedure: Messages — UCE — Index Number — (sending message to 6600 on MTN and Airtel.
But not all students will not be able to access their results via SMS.

“At the request of school head teachers, UNEB has not put on the SMS [platforms] the results of those candidates who were allowed to sit the examination without paying school fees and have not honoured their obligations to date,” announced Odongo.
“Parents, guardians and candidates are advised to complete the payment of such fees before they can access the results at their sitting centres.”
