Walukagga Joins Besigye to Campaign for FDC's Namatende in Bugiri Municipality Election
Singer Mathias Walukagga could join other musicians like Bobi Wine and Judith Babirye in parliament if his bid to for election to parliament becomes successful.
On Wednesday, Walukagga, famous for his anti-government songs such as ‘Abantu Bakoowu (people are tired), campaigned for Eunice Namatende.
Namatende is facing stiff competition from Jeema’s Asuman Basalirwa in the Bugiri Municipality MP election.
It was at Namatende’s rally that Walukagga announced his interest in joining the 11th parliament.
Walukagga already enjoys the backing of opposition strongman and four-time presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye.
Besigye hailed Walukagga “for being in Bugiri to support Eunice Namatende”.
“More fighters coming to front line,” Besigye said of Walukagga’s bid to run for MP.
