KIU Praises Cuban Lecturers at Nursing School
Kampala International University (KIU) has revealed it imported 52 Cuban lecturers to help in better training of its students at its Nursing School located at the institution’s western campus in Ishaka, Bushenyi.
According to KIU deputy vice chancellor Dr Annet Kezaabu Kasimbazi, the university has “had over 50 Cuban doctors teaching our students at the Western Campus”.
Kezaabu also praises the Cuban nursing lecturers for a good job, saying “the results speak for themselves” because “our students are excelling during their internships in regional hospitals all over the country”.
At the start of May, Uganda’s three-decade president Yoweri Museveni justified government’s decision to import Cuban doctors.
But Museveni’s perennial nemesis Dr Kizza Besigye said Uganda should as well import the Cuban president.
