Janet Museveni: God Will Make the Future of Uganda’s Sports Very Bright
First Lady Janet Museveni Praises God, Athletes for Commonwealth Medals
First lady and education and sports minister Janet Museveni has said Uganda’s sports future will be bright, with the help of God.
On Thursday, Janet Museveni welcomed Ugandan athletes from Gold Coast, Australia where they won six medals in Commonwealth Games.
The athletes included double gold medalist Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei and Stella Chesang who won one gold medal.

The first lady praised the athletes for “working hard and winning”.
She also gave “thanks to God because I know that He is the one who enabled them to win”.
“This is only the beginning of very many wins,” she encouraged the athletes.
Janet Museveni also expressed optimism about the future of Uganda’s sports.
“I believe that by His [God’s] help, Uganda will shine even brighter in sports and the world will acknowledge it.”
The first lady is a practising Christian. God once told her to defy Yoweri Museveni, her husband, and join elective politics.
Museveni’s wife also told the athletes that “government is committed to and will keep supporting our athletes”.
