Ingrid Turinawe: Abiriga wasn’t a Bad Man; He was a Victim of Bad Politics
Ingrid Turinawe: Abiriga Didn't Deserve Such Death
Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) secretary for Mobilisation, Ingrid Turinawe, has said that slain Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga was a victim of bad politics.
Abiriga was assassinated at meters away from his home at 6:45pm on Friday by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
Abiriga was murdered alongside Said Kongo, his brother and bodyguard.
Turinawe has recalled the time he first met Abiriga.
“The first day I met him, I helped his faulty car back on road,” recalled Turinawe.
“I had a chat with him, learnt he wasn’t a bad man! He was just funny and realistic”
Even as a critic of the ruling NRM party which Abiriga supported, Turinawe said Abiriga did not deserve such cruel death.
“I think ABIRIGA is just a victim of Politics. He did not deserve such death. Sad, RIP.”
