Besigye Accuses Government of Hacking into His Social Media Accounts, Deleting His Followers
Besigye Social Media Accounts Hacked into, Followers Deleted
Uganda’s opposition kingpin Dr Kizza Besigye has complained that government has been deleting his followers on Twitter and other social media platforms.
Besigye says he has “confirmed that a hacker is systematically deleting my Twitter followers, especially, the Uganda-based ones,” wrote Besigye.
Besigye has since reported the matter to Twitter.
He says he has lost between 200 and 500 followers.
Besigye also adds that some of his followers have been complaining why he has been blocking them — yet he insists he has not.
The four-time presidential candidate says the hackers only target followers with Ugandan names.
Besigye is also complaining that his all his communications over the internet are troublesome, adding that he has to use Virtual Private Network to access his digital communications.
